A case report of traumatic intrahepatic artery aneurysm: Diagnosis with color Doppler imaging and transarterialembolization

ABSTRACT

We experienced a case of intrahepatic artery aneurysm after blunt abdominal trauma which was diagnosed bycolor Doppler imaging and hepatic arteriography. Color Doppler imaging showed hypoechoic lesion with thickirregular walls and complex arterial flow. Successful transcatheter embolization with occluding spring coil wasdone. Follow up color Doppler imaging showed no color flow signal within the aneurysm, indicating occlusion of theaneurysm. Color Doppler imaging was useful for diagnosis of hepatic aneurysm and follow-up evaluation oftranscatheter embolization.
